Confirmed regarding the revenue decline. Maybe more layoffs ahead in coming quarters. Restructuring is happening.
There is also a reorganization coming so maybe they cleaning up the company for a sale for part or all of it. I heard employees were stunned by this round of layoffs bc the CEO sounded so confident about the bottom being done and that Q2 would be better. The layoffs came out of left field and took many by surprise given this. The news can't be all that great if the layoffs came out of nowhere.
You don't have to legally announce anything unless you are a large company. 15-20% of the company is a big deal no matter how you slice. Word will be on the street soon about cut in revenue then the stock price will get hammered again. Inphi is trying hard but its poor management structure as well as lack of processes ensures that they will not ever be what they can. The same kind of thinking that gets you from a 100M to a 300M-400M company doesn't work if you trying to scale to a 500M-1B company.
no big deal. if the layoff was really widespread the co. would have to announce it and give 6 months notice. this is probably getting rid of excess after acquisitions
This is a widespread layoff and another downturn in revenue is coming. Inphi will get acquired by a company that can afford to spend more on projects. Clariphy acquisition has not been successful.
