For months the Bass staff has heard from our leaders how much opportunity this buyout of Cabelas was going to create for them. We are not 9 months into the buyout so lets evaluate all of the opportunity that has been created for Bass Pro staff:
CFO - filled with Cabelas staff that was just issued a fine of over $1million dollars for improper reporting of financial information.
Finance Director - filled with Cabelas staff. See above for handling of finances.
IT Director - Bass IT Director released, Cabelas IT Director placed into position.
VP of HR - filled with Cabelas staff that has no formal HR training, background or college education. Had to have consultant onsite to train her.
Director of HR - filled with not one but two Cabela's staff.
Director of Training - Bass Training Director released, Cabelas Director placed into position. Seems to be a relationship with VP of HR.
Operations - filled by two Cabelas staff.
Seems to be that the only opportunity that has been created has been for the Cabelas team. No interviews conducted, no positions posted, no staff from Bass Pro considered and Cabelas team continuing to prosper and surround themselves with their "inner circle" that helped Cabelas get acquired by Bass Pro. Seems that JM and his team has forgotten all about the people that helped get the company to where they are today and to have the power to buyout their biggest competitor. So when exactly will this opportunity for loyal and faithful BPS staff happen? Many have already given up and are just afraid to voice their opinions and concerns for fear of retaliation. Sad times for Bass team.
