Qualcomm due to drop double digits

Post out showing Qualcomm is heading for a double digit fall Q3. NXP is currently overvalued at a 30+ multiple. None of this looks good. I wonder what NXP with report Q3 - everything is pointing down and now the stock is getting shorted heavily. That 2B breakup fee is starting to look good.

Reuters just reported

“No one on this planet is ready to break the bank for 5G, even less so with a total lack of 5G business cases,” IHS Markit mobile equipment analyst Stephane Teral told Reuters. Even when 5G hits its stride sometime next decade, he warns that capital spending may never return to 4G peak levels of 2015.

Taking bets on who is left in this industry in 1 year, 3 years? 5 years? 10 years? Seems like this industry is heading into a recession.

5G chasers going down first

Not a good news. Q targets 7-9ish EPS in 2019. If double digit fall happens, 1B$ cost saving and buyback won't help. Q must do more. If the deals happens they can sell out asset or business functions in last 2 quarters of this year.

N will get more cash true but not to forget that they took over 6,5B$ gross, 2,6B$ net debt from FSL buy in 2015. A lot of processes waiting for deal and burning money like hell. Stock fall could be eliminated with buyback like Q.

More layoffs coming
