I wonder how long it's going to be before an aspiring (and hungry) attorney looks at our situation and concludes that all of us and our families are suffering extreme hardships, duress, anxiety, etc. over how LM is treating us and just might be inclined to peruse class-action legal action...??? How bad can an employer really treat it's employees before they can retaliate??? By the way, wasn't that the birth of unionism??? Just wondering.....

Just read an article posted on the Teamsters Facebook page dated June 18th stating how much our US Senate approved for defense spending and according to this article our government approved 2.8 Billion (yes that is Billion with a B) for Lockheed Martin specifically for Sikorsky Aircraft to build helicopters. Can someone tell me why Lockheed Martin is having a layoff or threatening one when there are orders and funding from our tax dollars for these aircraft.
Unfortunately, having been "acquired" by LM years ago, I can tell you it doesn't get any better.
Did management get it wrong? "It's your fault."
Did you knock it out of the park? "You're lucky to have a job."
And they chase any fad that comes along. "Hey, let's layoff all of our experienced people, replace them with contractor veterans."
They appear to resent having any staff whatsoever.

This is what the union that everyone pays their dues for should have done long ago. Isn’t the union supposed to stand up for the unfair treatment of the employees? Where are you Union when the employee needs you the most? This seems to be a clear cut case of the almighty large billion dollar business rolling over the employees. Union reps should have stood up to Lockheed management as soon as these layoff rumors started ( After all we are Teamsters) A strike should have been put on the table immediately. Try telling the US Government we won’t be supplying their Blackhawk Helicopters because Lockheed can’t get their crap together, see how much that works for them!
