Aviation's digital division has a bunch of non-technical directors and senior directors who cannot find a job in any other software company. Many of them are program managers using their friend's network grew up the ladder.

Some of them have not coded in their life, they wasted millions of dollars on building a web apps that no one would buy. End result engineers are laid off but not these directors.

Its such in-competent people who are bringing down Aviation more than anyone else.

To the leadership please fire such incompetent Executives, Senior Directors. Would you ever fly in a plane where the pilot has never flow. They way Aviation is run is some VPs and Senior Directors have never coded in their life and the result is a mess.

Very true for years GE Aviation Digital had outsourced their IT dept, they had program managers managing the contractors & consultants.

When they decided they were a product company, guess what the VP's and Senior Directors who managed contractors now are held responsible for building software products. They are people managers with no clue on what it takes to deliver a quality software product thats hardened, and the result is a disaster. Which is the reason they GE Aviation digital division has been making about 60 to 80 million USD of loss each year for the last 4 years. None of these decision makers get laid off, but the worker bees get laid off as the belt tightens. These Senior Directors and VP's use their network to hold to their job.

I hope some one in GE Leadership has the courage to get ride of these skill less leaders who are all talk. The result speaks for itself, the only products that make money are acquired products like Austin Digital, Avionica, Airvault etc.

Welcome to GE. It's not what you know. It's who you know. This is why the company is a mess. I personally witnessed a person never has IT security experience with BS a got the job without formal interview process. A person with Master Degree in IT security and work in security for several years and did not even get call. he is is black. Get out My Friend!

GE has such a large mess of systems (servers) controlled by contractors, incompetent help desk, and legacy systems in not surprised any user would think all of the programs stuck. Lean and six sigma has been used as a tool against us. Lot of the time I think management is purposefully setting up GE to fall.

I don't think GE Aviation Digital has any decent products, we made the mistake of selecting them for some of our digital transformation work and realized it was big mistake. Even a startup does better work. Aviation makes good quality engines, But their software team has no idea what they are doing..they leverage the trust and quality of the engine product.

Given their track record if Aviation digital was a separate company it would be bankrupt by now.
