Layoffs are occurring - ongoing - not just in larger numbers. Strategic positions are being eliminated with the goal of eventually shutting down specific sites. If you work at a facility that is becoming emptier and emptier, think about it - who is paying the electric bills? The business needs to be there in order to generate the revenue that pays the bills. These aren't tax-payer funded jobs. You think there is some Leprechaun in the furnace room generating cash?? Apollo is not in this for the long-haul - the Investors want a return on their investment - not pay for empty buildings. READ the signs - the former executives took their millions and fled. They knew what was coming - and shame on them - they should have been fired years ago for complacency and inept managing of West overall. Apollo is cleaning up, maximizing efficiencies, selling back to the market - leaving the re-defined company with significant debt - the goal is to walk away - not create a long-term, stable entity. Wake up.

I'm hearing layoffs in Omaha June 1st. We'll see if it plays out I guess. W100 in Omaha is turning into a complete ghost town, and the West building on Nicholas ST (W14 I think?) has been sold. Allegedly there was going to be "salary adjustments" sometime in May, but that hasn't happened yet. I assume it's because they were too busy sharpening the axe...
Next round coming up in June impacting technical teams. Omaha impacted but not Dallas due local management group protection. Buildings being sold at various locations, continuance upon site closures progressing, etc. Still think it’s not going to happen? When corporate communications go silent, only badness comes to reality.
We have been assuming that everything that can be will be sent to India and Manila. That’s too bad because West has lost the majority of its best employees either by attrition or lay offs. That is no exaggeration. Seems like they have spent more money on high powered execs not even from the same industry instead of trying to keep their star employees actually doing the work. At some point, I hope West/Apollo realizes that employees with customer relationships and process/product knowledge are invaluable. You want West to be a success? Get your top employees and sales reps back. Keep West in the US. Stop with the “globalization”. We all know what that really means. It’s gone from bad to worse. West and Apollo ought to be penalized for what is going on! Talk to your representatives.

TdugFZU is correct in all respects. Once Apollo ready, they will take West public, sell it, then give back to investors 100% plus! More reductions will be noted, what's left will be lucky to stay on once new buyers move in. Key projects are almost completed, high paid technical staff with directors will be released leaving basic crew to run it all.
