Thread regarding Microsoft Corp. layoffs

International Sales on the chopping block

This is in line with what transpired back in 2017 - as more sales is pushed online and as cloud offerings continue to cut into legacy channels - we'll see more and more sales folks leave the company. Most legacy companies have done the same (e.g., IBM, Oracle, etc.) - Again, it may not be a huge number but sales folks will continue to be impacted - this applies to marketing as well, maybe not to the same extent but as more things are pushed into digital marketing channels you'll see less folks work for more traditional channels. Nothing specific to Microsoft, it just reflects the direction of the industry.

Meanwhile there is a few thousands open positions listed on the career site, so I'd say Microsoft is sitting pretty right now. I'd venture to say that we are a company with so much upside potential that will get realized over the next decade.

Good luck to all.

C'mon there is very little logic in all this business. They just don't have an idea of what kind of people they want to keep and who they want to let go, so they keep doing this assinine ritual year after year.
