Things are definitely not looking up here at Loyola. We were told Monday that 25 full timers are being laid off, with five more being switched to part time. In all honesty, this only seems like a band-aid solution.
We can only hope something more substantial will change before more of us end up looking for a new job.
Loyola University New Orleans has announced layoffs of 25 full-time employees as part of a plan to eliminate a deficit, The New Orleans Advocate reported. The university is also suspending for the next 11 months its historic 7 percent match of employees' salaries for their retirement plans.
