Is there a Micro Focus section on this site? Can't seem to find it. Thanks.

Hi @UeUFH9I-9xes ,

Sad to say, your experiences are in common with many at HPE or formerly at HPE. I personally sat through a staff meeting where a co-worker utterly SLAMMED the work ethic of a not-present co-worker (she was not there to defend herself). In front of everyone, not at all hidden! All that the boss said was something along the lines of, "Well, at least I'm glad that we all seem to feel free to speak our mind."

The worst of it, to me, was that the co-worker-slammer-person was an outwardly-apparently-sincere adherent of a certain highly-prevalent-in-the-USA "faith group", yet couldn't or didn't practice the simplest ethics as summarized in the "Golden Rule". I have now stopped mentally, inwardly crediting or "up-ticking" my estimations of people in general, based on what they SAY (what faith they profess), as opposed to what they DO.

Good Luck, cheers!

I was laid off before the merge to Micro Focus and I had many co-workers who undermined me and tried to micro manage me with harrasment daily. I was never recognized for my work not once and I gave my all and did what the manager wanted. I believe it was a classic case of major discrimination and Jealousy by my co-workers talking behind my back to the Manager who are the favorites and my other co-workers who knew the type of work I did and a person I was started to treat me badly near the end, I do not know why and I was never approched or ask if they believed something that was not true never confirmed it with me. :-( Very Sad - I always treated everyone with mutual respect, but got treated like dirt since years I worked at HPE in different business groups, it did not matter. Favoritsm was the key and if you was not favored all work you do is ignored and they always promoted their favorite who took credit for your work after you trained them. I had a very bad experience working at HPE for many years, same treatment even with different groups I worked in.

Marry., I concur with OP. Leave with intagety as you never now what opportunities this event, although stresses-full, will transpire. One door closes, another door or more open. I would highly recommend that you use any paid sick time to get any dental or medical/Rx’s Etc., before any insurance ends. COBRA is very expensive. Ur boss can’t stop you from doing this, just make sure you keep a positive (as difficult as this may be) attitude. You only have a week left. Medical usually ends the end of the month. Usually that is.

I was terminated many years ago from Agilent/HP. I was off on medical leave, my very arrogant boss had informed me to pickup my personal effects at the main lobby/security station. When I retrieved them, the box had written on it in big black sharpe “Terminated Employee”! What a jerk! I had heard from my ex-coworkers that “he” was going around telling people who he thought would get fired next. Well guess what? He got fired! Ha ha! I bumped into him and his wife when Christmas shopping, his wife did all the talking, he never said a word. He looked very depressed. So like OP said, Karma. Best wishes to you and yours. All will turnout for the better. Bless.

Hi Mary,

I suspect that I have little of preciously valuable information to impart to you, other than MAYBE my sympathy, for whatever that may be worth.

My off-hand advice: If you value your self-esteem and dignity and "karma", AND, very importantly, the welfare of your former co-workers that you leave behind, then please do your best to NOT leave a mess in your wake... Tell yourself that you are doing it for your left-behind co-workers, and NOT for your slimy ex-boss! You will respect yourself for doing this, I suspect, and hold your head high. I have done that in my semi-recent past, and hold my head high, in the face of "mixed company"... Some VERY kind and decent co-workers, and others plotting and scheming (consciously or subconsciously, "machs nix" to me, which of those 2) to throw me under the bus, so that I would be laid off, and not them.

If ALL of your co-workers were utter slime-balls, and you're OK with it, PRETEND YOUR BEST to "help" them on your way out! And leave them a tar-baby!!! If you have a clueless boss (as I did), he will NOT be able tell the difference!

Legally, corporate soulless automatons (I am thinking of bosses) will be corporate soulless automatons, and I can see where you probably have little recourse...

Good Luck and Best Wishes!

Thank you. There are no posts there, so no one will probably read my comment. Anyway, I was laid off this past Monday, and my boss threatened me verbally, warning not to take any day off before my last day on the 27th, or they could fire me without severance. He put together a check list of a long list of things that I'm "obliged" (that was the exact word he used) to transfer the knowledge related to each one across several members on the team.

He was very, very nasty. It's the first time he talks to me like that. He was very intimidating... I am a woman, and I believe I have rights against that kind of harassment. I went to HR and they didn't write anything down on what I said or told me that they were going to do a thing. I consulted with my Lawyer, and she asked me if there was anything in writing or witnesses, and I said no, so basically nothing that can be done. Not sure what to do. I feel more than humiliated.
