Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

Leaked Recording: Dream Center Exec Blames Durbin, EDMC, Accreditors (But Not DeVos)

Leaked Recording: Dream Center COO John Crowley, meeting with Ai Chicago, blames Senator Durbin, EDMC, accreditors (but not DeVos). Says that Dept Ed told DCEH not to say "closed school" and that ED under secretary Diane Jones is coralling accreditors.

There's more -- a lot more.

Also notes that Middle States issued show cause to Ai Pittsburgh and Philadelphia (as you probably know by now)

Regarding Argosy Online accreditation, they should be WASC accredited, but specific programmatic accreditation would need to be researched. Online is not CACREP, supposedly are seeking it, but online does not have enough graduates in the CMHC program for the self study. Online is ACBSP (business) accredited.

Does anyone know if Ai Online, Argosy Online, and South Online are accredited and by which agencies?

Everyone is talking about ethics and someone records him without his knowledge? You lose credibility when you can't live up to the standard you require of someone else.

With the Middle States announcement of pulling accreditation August 31 it looks like DCEH is doing all they can to close down Ai completely (or as little as the can to keep it accredited and open). Ai was never wanted by DCF. AiO isn’t necessary either, Argosy has online classes and their accreditation is not at stake. All AU campuses are “one university” and have a common accreditation unlike Ai campuses. It would be easier to add a handful of design or related management programs to AU Online than keep a failing AiO open.

We’re all just speculating. DCEH has a plan, they don’t have to share it, we’ll all know when we get the WARN notice or are walked out of the building.

Man this makes me worried on a large scale. We all knew AI was bad but bad enough that it might threaten all the universities. That's tough. Especially since they're finally moving in the direction of not having people that aren't loyal join for an education being routed to us.

I really wish the students would see that DCEH is putting them in a bigger bind if they stay! It boblows my mind that students are still trying to stay and have more than a year of school to complete! How are you getting a quality education with 1 or 2 students in a class! Please get out now!

How is anyone (especially DoE) allow this? Loan forgiveness under most circumstances has been heavily debated, but there’s students were never told of losing accreditation. I have never considered re—checking accreditation repeatedly during my time there. I did my research. I should not be left with the bill.

Don’t sign. Get a lawyer before they hide the rest of their money. Get out of Ai.

Ah so this explains the bizarre and vague email from DCEH saying that students were hearing wrong information re: accreditation

DO NOT HAVE STUDENTS SIGN ANYTHING - PLEASE. Read the article. As stated numerous times on this site, STUDENTS may not have any rights through the DOE closed school discharge program. Credits are essentially useless and won't transfer to most colleges. STUDENTS MUST BE PROTECTED.. If they take a deal (AI Online will not be accredited soon)...or the$5K, they give up the right to SUE DCEH. Students have been harmed by this and should start litigation NOW...don't wait or they will be stuck with MASSIVE payments 6 months after the schools close. Can you imagine your students paying a $800 to $1200 monthly payment...one that can't be discharged through bankruptcy. Please guide students not to sign. Refer them to this site and to all the articles that are coming out. Refer them to the DOE and to their U.S. Senator's office.
