Thread regarding John Hancock layoffs

There were job cuts at John Hancock this year already, this affected both US and Canadian operations. On the Canadian side about 700 people were laid off - which is massive as John Hancock is not that big of a company - the US side got affected as well. To be frank some folks got voluntary retirement packages which worked for many as they were planning to leave.
