Thread regarding Infinera Corp. layoffs

I think layoffs are coming very soon, the company is trouble…

Here is why I think this way… Systems engineering management is chaotic at best. There is a lot of attrition and the management is not aligned at the top – Several SVPs/VPs left the company in less than 2 years – most of them were good employees and visionary leaders – the replacements are weak and they do not interact with teams a lot…

There is a major brain drain going on right now with folks leaving the company frequently – just check your mailbox for farewell emails…

Something tells me that the management is getting ready to sell Infinera and they are focusing on maintain the existing cash flow and cutting costs – they are not going after new sales (that would require spend) – companies that want to sell themselves often do this – if this happens the C-level folks will make many millions.

I see no new and exciting products in the pipeline, see the bullet above.

On the management level this is rampant: Sloppy planning, lack of discipline and very poor execution. The loudly touted acquisition of Transmode turned out to be a very bad decision – this id hitting us in a bad way from all sides…

Finally, most recent announcement of intent to acquire Coriant concerns folks in the trenches – is this that fatal acquisition that will sink the boat…

Infinera had a substantial layoff on 12/10/18. Morale is very poor and the best people are jumping ship as fast as they can.
