Good luck to those on thread interviewing! I have my paperwork in. I will try not to be swayed by QCOM HR dangling the QSOL concert series this summer.

Great news, if compensation better...time to head to Apple. Apple would be smart to hire away the modem team. They have plenty of cash, royally screws QCOM, seems like a no-brainer for Apple. Based on current QCOM management team, why stay? Especially after this round of reviews and promos, what a joke!

I don’t care about Q and A fighting each other. This is good news for local engineering talent and San Diego community. More of the Silicon Valley giants will follow suit if this is a successful venture. This can only be good for the local community !

This could be considered an act of self sabotage :)

This is scary news for Q. I am a loyal employee for 20 years and plan to stay another 15. San Diego is our turf!

LOL I guess this was true. Well done

I am so glad I accepted Apple San Diego office offer and got into the ground floor of an exciting career opportunity! I am not looking back. Good luck former Q colleagues.

I am all set to join Apple San Diego office!

Can I get my bonus, give notice same day and start the following week at Apple? I don't want to risk my shares and bonus at Q but I also want to start at Apple as soon as possible. I will be working on a very exciting project!

This is bad news for Qualcomm

Post ID: @eibp+VLvH8Am

I know the hiring manager from his days at Qualcomm and I contacted him this week and he confirmed they are building a very large team in San Diego. Before he did not give me a clear answer but something must have changed. They are hiring heavily in San Diego in all areas according to him.

Good news to all who wanted another employment option in San Diego

This is good news! I am getting my piece of apple pie tomorrow!

Unfortunately I am eating my apple pie in the texas but they told me they would be serving apple pie to me in San Diego next year if I am still hungry for the dessert.

This is the metaphor.

This information is true. I got contacted by a recruiter from Apple via LinkedIn. He mentioned that they are building teams in San Diego and my skills are good fit to the new team in San Diego. I sent my resume already and hopefully I will hear back within a few days, fingers crossed.

Guys and gals you should consider this opportunity soon before all positions are filled. Get the he!l out of this sinking ship called Qualcomm.

Post ID: @btui+VLvH8Am

The news is not fake, unfortunately. I asked my admin and she checked Apple jobs site and there are jobs listed in San Diego as of today. Darn it! Apple is bringing it to home front :(

I also got an offer for Apple San Diego office recently. Waiting for my stock in a few weeks before I quit (I will give notice after the shares are deposited into my account. I dont trust the management any more).

Farewell and good luck

I got in touch with the right recruiter on LinkedIn and he confirmed the news. Apple already has an active engineering office in San Diego and they are hiring. This is exciting news!

I also heard from a colleague that a former Q manager ET now at Apple initiated and leading hiring in San Diego.

Congratulations to the new apple hires (former qcommers)

You will do great!

Just remember to not bring Qcom negativity and tribal backstabbing to the new job. This is not qualcomm and apple will not stand for internal cutthroat and immoral work behavior.

Just remember to "Be Best!" as our beautiful first lady Melanoma Trump says!

Be Best starts with you!

I can confirm this is true. I have an offer for Apple San Diego office. I will resign after I get my bonus and stock next month. My commute will not change much. I am so excited! They are located somewhere close to Sorrento Valley but they wouldn't tell me exact location. I think UTC

I can also confirm there is quite a few people at Q with offers who will also quit next month to join Apple San Diego. This is good news for the engineering pool in San Diego. God bless

this is good. just got my offer friday after months of interviews. Likely to be in Texas not SD or SV which is fine I need a break from the BS here.

btw - interview cycles are gruelling and iterative and.....long (months). In retrospect I see know they were trying to find the best spot possible to mitigate ramp-up onboarding spec review process etc.

I am excited to start but will probably continue to troll this site periodically to see how the remaining slaves at the plantation are doing. I'm still disgusted my job was geoshifted to BDC while SM and GD get ridiculous pay and jet to Hawaii for the weekends.

But as they say "karma is a b--ch" and it is inevitable for all of our sins and transgressions

Search for silicon team recruiters. Or ask any one of the other recruiters to direct you to the silicon team recruiters.

|
Post ID: @7zrs+VLvH8Am

Do you have the name of the recruiter? There appears to be many Apple recruiters on linkedin when I search

by
|
Post ID: @6zww+VLvH8Am

Find a recruiter on link3din, schedule a call with them. Confirm/deny the rumors. That simple.

As of three month ago when i did it, rumors were baseless. Recruiter said been asked about this rumor for years now, but aint true. Probalbly same BS now as then.

Is it true that Apple has or will have an engineering office in San Diego? Can someone confirm? Are the posters here trolling or is it true?

I want to apply to Apple San Diego office but I don't know how or where. Their job site does not list anything in San Diego. Can someone post more details on how to apply?

I interviewed recently and I think I did well. The hiring manager told me Apple already has an office in San Diego with active employees. He said they are hiring all areas systems, digital hw, RF, FW and sw. I hope to get an offer from Apple in San Diego. Fingers crossed waiting to hear back

Post ID: @5fpr+VLvH8Am

@4hfv please let us know how your interview goes. I heard Apple interview process is very intense and hard to pass. I want to apply but I need to brush up on my skills first. Qualcomm made me rusty. Time to stop cruising and do some real work at Apple, like the old times at Q

Post ID: @5nso+VLvH8Am

-3tde : Yes it seems they are hiring SW and many other HW roles in San Diego. It is not just modem. I got an interview for a position in San Diego. Wish me luck! I really want to leave Qualcomm but not San Diego

by

Post ID: @4hfv+VLvH8Am

Are they hiring software in San Diego?

by

Post ID: @3tde+VLvH8Am

Confirmed. Evidently they are hiring in large numbers in San Diego. Good news indeed

Nothing listed for jobs here yet on the usual job sites.

Post ID: @fbe+VLvH8Am

A San Diego office would be a bit player in a very large “can’t fail” cupertino-based effort.

You will be under tremendous pressure to bypass Q’s non-SEP patents and this work will be compared by customers against previous handsets with Q modems.

Own a sleeping bag...

Extremely good news. Nothing better mive by apple. Apple must completely erode qualcomm for lifetime. Go ahead apple.

Looks like it’s confirmed news that Apple is in San Diego! Definitely good news but don’t know how many they will hire.

If Apple was developing a modem, they'd be doing it in their HQs.
