No layoffs in CA will happen. CWA and IBEW have strict layoffs policies that would effectively delay any notion of a lay-off for almost a year. (Step 1) Possibly ISP's offered (Voluntary separation). CA and many other states have had those, in many different job titles. Step 2.) Contractors go before employees. Step 3.) Realignment. Step 4.) This is the last resort step, layoff notices. But, when this happens, more senior employees can voluntary retire in lieu of an actual layoff to a the least senior Union member in that classification. Given these steps in the CBA, it would take at least 6 months before it came to that. So I may say with certainty (Vice legal issues).....2021 would be the earliest they would consider it again. By then huge debts will be paid, and the sale of properties will be a cash flow boon to achieve this. Therefore, no layoffs for CA in 2019. IBEW just verbally agreed to a 2yr. extension, with 2% raise each yr. Additionally contractors are being hired at alarming rates. All skeleton crews left in CA, so company can't do a layoff anytime soon. Good news for CWA/IBEW employees.
Frontier is a sinking ship. They don't care about their employees and the hire ups don't fight for you. Deland, Fl had major cut backs in commission in there sales que. They constantly make goals ridiculously high and pay us less. 9 years of always hitting past top goal and now I'm missing thousands from my checks and forced to work harder for nothing. Frontier just lost another well seasoned employee and there's more following me. Soon Deland will be filled with all new bodies with very Very little knowledge. Customer service will only get worse.

Half of all sales have been let go in favor of 3rd party call centers, all of Indiana dispatch RIFd in February. March so far has regulatory positions as well as all customer service advocates in Fort Wayne. Appears as significant cuts will continue as customers are constantly canceling service due to customer service not actual service. Frontier is no longer in charge of their our own destiny they've hired Consultants to slowly Drive the ship. Huge brain drain being done.

IBEW Everett is on the cutting board expect layoffs in February 2019. IBEW has no layoff protection in the 2018 contract.
Is the no layoff clause part of IBEW in Everett?
I keep seeing the "no layoff clause" being referenced which doesn't mean anything to anyone that has it. The company can basically do what it wants based on "needs of business". Too bad that this is being misunderstood by everyone as it was by me. The company can't lay you off, but they can offer you a job on the other side of the country, and if you refuse that then you are let go by your own choice. They get what they want either way. Everyone thinks the "no layoff" is a safeguard from the downfall of the company, but it isn't by any means. It was a gimmick to make that contract glitter is it. Needs of business over rides everything in the contract! Study up people, you are not safe either!
With the “no layoff “ clauses in Cali and Texas, those of us with “options” would LOVE and WELCOME some kind of voluntary severance package. Ijs

Please save your money up frontier employees. The end is eminent you are the best at what you do but sadly the management has failed you as it has the customer. CTF conversation = two offices doing nothing but disconnects for two months.

not in California or Texas no layoffs until Sept 2020; WV also has a no layoff clause not sure when it expires
