Do you think there will be MGM Layoffs in 2019?

What you need to realize, particularly if you work for a major gaming company, is they have whole departments that do this. I use to work at one. The department is called Department of Business Process Integrity. Essentially they assess all types of business processes (both front and back of house) and are constantly seeing how they can cut expenses. Guess what there #1 target is? You guessed it - Headcount - you. These cuts typically target low level directors to line workers. Be aware of this if you are (or plan to work) in the gaming industry. Also, particularly in Vegas strip c-sinos, there is a lot of nepotism. If you are linked into upper management you're fine. If not, you're just a number no one has an issue cutting and it is very difficult to save yourself.
Eliminate positions for future rehires as on call jobs. Every year each department must have a reduction in payroll by 12% minimum to 18%. Savings are not passed on to customers, but as payroll for executives salary bonuses, why would anyone hire any Mgm executive director/president knowing they have been trying to make money by cutting staff payroll
fire/layoff and rehire at a lower wage...
We'll see - I do not think there will be cuts
It’s already happening.....if you’re a level 8 manager you’re probably okay. If one of your co-workers quits; they might not be replaced right away as to appeal to shareholders.
You will still hire fountain workers and line level employees.
Some of your directors will be gone.
Later though, they will re-fill those unfillled positions once the shareholders are happy and buy more stock.
