Layoffs in Warsaw indiana, made spine and brain implants and instruments. Shipping 30 machines overseas(China and Costa Rica). Downsizing accordingly. Best of wishes to all effected
If you're over 40, you're a target for Layoffs here. I worked in HR for years at Medtronic, they were always talking about the workforce being "older" (wink-wink, nudge-nudge...aka, get rid of the older workers one way or another). Can't believe there hasn't been an investigation or mass lawsuit yet.
Over 200 people were terminated on 25 & 26 April 2019 across many locations. My friend in Singapore was ask to leave as soon he reached office without any reasons along with around 20 other people. The management travels in charter planes, have so called leadership meetings in all groups at various locations in the world every quarter and they cut costs by removing people in such a manner. Pathetic.
It happens every year for the last 10. Omar said from the beginning cuts every year. Full time workers feeling like full time contractors with benefits. Don't know year to year if you will have a job...
Layoffs hit many divisions of MDT on 4/25/19. Some rumors of divisions shutting down as well.

I was an employee in RTG, laid off Jan 30th 2019, along with another employee in my group.
The recent furlough of 4000 contractors in Jan 2019, and that it was done so suddenly, and apparently with little planning, indicates that there is a high likelihood of something large scale and bad coming for 4th quarter. Some contractors already have not had their contracts renewed and I expect wholesale dismissal of contractors to happen in the 4th quarter by Apr 2019, when budgeting for the next fiscal year is complete. Employees are not going to be immune from dismissal either.
