Have you heard anything about potential Office Depot Layoffs in 2019?

Welp! Today I was given notice of my upcoming last day, which is in February literally less than two weeks away smh company laying off yet again. This time they’re cutting the print managers/supervisor position(mines). Supposedly I was told the print & client engagement manager is now one position. This company I have to say is one of the worst. They laid off my store manager back in aug/sept the one who hired me.. we just finally got a new store manager in December smh and now I’m told my position is being cut. I hate them
I was one that was affected in May's layoff after 20 years working there. Yeh the ceo keeps his job while hard dedicated workers are let go. Guess I'm lucky as all I seen for years is everyone walking on eggshells in the attempted buyout from staples, purchase of Omax, the dump a– decision to buy compucom. Bad... Now the management is micro-managing the remaining staff with triple workload and sending any job possible overseas to incompetent people that lie to customers. Sales team in the field too were let go and heard one rep was handling over 2500 accounts. How can someone handle that much and many of these accounts were million dollar one's. I think Office Depot will not survive past 2022. bye bye
OFFICE Depot has been in a downward path for years..store traffic down double digits..old.dirty stores.....Only old people shop there!!!.....
Praying for those employees not impacted by the recent lay off. It must s--- to have been left behind. I’m hearing work load has doubled. Get out people, the ship is sinking!!
On the Source Tuesday 5-28 there a picture of all of the Sales Reps that went to Champions Circle in France. I am unsure as to when this event actually occurred. In my opinion and others that are still employed posting this picture was in very poor taste. Curious also as to how many of the sales reps in this picture are no longer with us as a result of the RIF? How many jobs could have been saved if this event was either cancelled or scaled back? Several of the DC's & Transportation Departments supporting Sales everyday were not eligible for bonus first quarter through no fault of their own.
Sad to say but it holds true, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The CEO's always come nice and clean and rich. Funny how that is.
The writing has been on the wall for years. If you were fortunate enough to not get laid off last week don't get comfortable. Take the time to update your resume and begin searching. There is no viable future in this company. Now if you're looking for a severance then stick around, Its not a matter of if but when.
Yes, the CEO keeps his job and we get laid off!
"At least 40M in cost savings expected in the second half of 2019"
Happy Mothers Day weekend to all of those deemed unworthy to keep their jobs.
A billion dollar acquisition fails miserably and the CEO gets to keep HIS job?
Downsizing coupled with demoting (is deflating the same as flattening?) remaining staff while outsourcing key positions - Great job Mr. Smith # 2.
Shame on you Board of Directors.
Heard today from someone affected. Layoffs at Corporate / Boca Raton confirmed.
BSD lost a few RVPs, several directors and other staff.
170 folks at Corporate - mainly in Loss Peevention, Supply Chain and Merchandising let go today. Not a rumor- done deal
I heard today from a reliable source that knows one of them in over there at Office Depot corporate in Boca Raton Florida that they’re laying off 600 people nationwide.
Layoffs today in the BDD division, Director level so far
Liquidation for closing stores begins start of Q2.
Just laid off 2 district managers in my area because if “restructuring” i assume they were not the only ones after they started the process to close 33 stores.
