Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

I miss...

...all the activity. That was entertainment at the finest when HPQ/HPE were still together.

HPQ is still doing cutting edge tech. Even producing a metals 3D printer. HPE is trash.

I miss the way-old days when Compaq (and then to a lesser degree, HP) was still working on NEW, cutting-edge tech! One could pay attention to REAL matters of creative and functional importance, instead of office politics! One could work on NEW stuff! Now any more, PC and server "tech" is like bicycle "tech", where no fundamental, REAL, significant improvements have been made since (???) 1910 or 1920. PC and server "tech" has been just a commodity, just like bicycles, for a long time now. Not the fault of HPE... Other than being too stodgy to hop on the new stuff, in time...

I do also miss the days when people worked as teams, and didn't constantly back-stab one another, motivated by "bell curve reviews" and constant layoffs. This one IS largely the fault of HPE and the "make them look bad so that I can look good" style of performance reviews.

Don't worry, once Trump Harris's kick in an and companies start laying off again, the activity will fire back up and folks can start foaming at the mouth about the company is doomed and will be bought out.
