Saw this coming 15 years ago. Internal Politics, job security was a function of kissing up. The biggest recurring failures were kept and promoted and those with a brain and ethics were pushed out. Professional Services front loaded every project, burned the budget down and had little to show for it. Sales staff were overriding TD best practices and kowtowing to client demands that would ensure failure... and they did. Professional services was rarely renewed after the initial contract period. Let's face it TD had a great product, team and service, premier place on Gartner reports but after all of the failures the client base was lured via "Management by magazine" and clients drifted to old ideas with new names that failed 40 years ago... (You know of whom I write.. Data w/o strong typing, on the fly user defined data.. flat file systems with little/no CRUD).. instead of sticking to their proven technology they rode their incompentent sales and marketing to the top!.. Proving that feces floats!

Recent layoffs the week of 1/7/2019 were about 25% of the workforce. sales, PS, IC's senior execs, like Eric Tom (CRO), VP's, PS directors which was the new thing for 2018 - howd that work out.

No external announcements like the last 6 or 8 layoffs, but this one was clearly the largest.

Wall street is informed and the stock is up.

No need for new accounts in 2019. it will be interesting to see 2019 sales when sales don't matter.

4q18 sales may be o.k., but many people cut in 2019 met their 2018 sales targets!!!

Customers should be concerned and not invest in dead technology with little if any support.

Place is FUBAR.

"Normal Consultants" were let go in Germany about six weeks ago. It's my understanding there will be more cuts in Germany throughout 2019. This remains to materialize though.
