Thread regarding Arris Group Inc. layoffs

Directors/VPs and above never get fired

The strange thing about the layoffs is the VPs and above save each other , and they layoff the foot soldiers. There must be more directors and higher in Horsham then engineers I guess. Same thing in Suwanee . Lots of directors and senior directors . These guys just keep s---ing the company's money and will stick as long as they can.

This company has no future . Get out before you are kicked out .

Not enough VP/Sr Directors shown the door and far too few workers to get things done. The universal feeling across the company (all departments) is that there are simply not enough people left to get the job done. People are exhausted and working much longer hours. ARRIS does not respect the knowledge base that exists. The push is for more diversity but there is no recognition that existing employees must help train new/young workers. My department has taken the push to hire in India quite literally and will no longer hire in the US, but does not recognize the difficulty of training across time zones and the new expectation of a 24/7 work week when working on projects across the globe. There is no more work/life balance. Time to look elsewhere for those who want that.

Agree, this time there were some directors/VPs affected, but disproportionately there are engineers and such who get affected. May be , they realize now they dont have enough engineers to layoff , and have to touch the directors/VPs to ensure Mr. CEO gets his annual bonus.

This is a sham now .

I agree there are more Directors in the company then Software Engg.

But don't agree that they are untouchables, there were some VPs and Sr/Directors shown doors in last cycle.
