Well, here it is folks, IBM is on the verge of losing the Walgreens contract due to mismanagement of field support staff, just a few week shy of the 1 year anniversary of the contract. IBM will be forced to "find" a replacement field service for Walgreens. Who knows what will happen to the current IBM-Former Walgreens workers at IBM, either they will stay with IBM and be the "unwanted-Soon to be laidoff group" or go else ware ( preferably not back to Walgreens, since they were the schmucks that felt that they didn't need them to begin with ) but it doesn't look good either way. Sorry guys, should have gotten out while the getting was good!

PS this work was done in October.
I did 4 late-night rite aid conversions for IBM/Walgreen's through the workmarket platform and they still haven't paid me. They aren't paying freelancers. Anyone with details or updates, similar experiences, pls post.
To many managers at IBM and no structured plans for resolving the failed contract. Their appetite was to big and employees lose. Be an autonomous company that still outsources. That's the reason you still fail. Apply somewhere else.
I was notified in late August that I will be part of a "Reduction in force." Not sure how many other ex Walgreen employees working for IBM will be a part of this.
IBM totally mishandled the field support staff. They gave them strict time limits, how long they could be in a store (sometimes four minutes), they charged double what Walgreens Field Support charged the stores, they took much longer to respond for both critical and non-critical tickets, and they resolved tickets claiming problems were fixed that were not. so the store had to open another ticket and which then was routed to Service Desk, who then assigned the new ticket back to IBM. They also cut the number of Tech Support employees supporting a system, and moved the ones they removed from Walgreen support to other areas. IBM promised all Field Support employees that they would have a job for a year from last October. When the contract is lost, I wonder what will happen to the former Walgreen Field Support employees - will IBM keep them or let them go?
