Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

Bob Dudley’s annual compensation- a fair reward for good results or absolute nonsense?

I may be a little off topic with this article, giving that it has nothing to do with layoffs, but it definitely paints a picture of how things are done at BP. It raises the question if BP’s CEO is overpaid, in relation to the company results and the competition (just to be clear, in my book every C-suite is overpaid). I was familiar that BD earns about $13 mil a year, but what shocked me was the fact that similar size companies pay more than twice as less for their chiefs. I know the earnings have been more than good, and in that situation, happy shareholders tend to give in to any demand the management makes, but a lot of the competitors are doing good as well, and I don't see them giving these kinds of figures to their management.
