Thread regarding Wind River Systems Inc. layoffs Review

"Winning at Work Life Balance; Losing at Job Growth"

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Alameda, CA

Doesn't Recommend

Negative Outlook

I worked at Wind River full-time (More than 3 years)

Work / Life Balance - the dog-friendly campus is along the bay trail with views of the Oakland and estuary. It also has a gym with daily fitness classes, and a healthy cafeteria.

Job Growth - Too many layers in the department, doesn't allow job growth. Career will stall.

Employee Development - No mentorship or opportunities to take classes to supplement career path.

Get out while you can or simply die on a vine! You bring no value, simply collecting a paycheck!

Wind River will always be a slow moving dinosaur! Old school mentality by old school management!

This review about sums things up. Not sure if the perks outweigh the down sides any more.

Have to be honest, I've updated my resume and am actively looking. Morale has taken huge hits here, and, unfortunately, has affected the behaviour of my colleagues here.
