List of Big Lots! Stores closing in 2019

Do you know what Big Lots stores:

  • will be closed in 2019

Please chime in if you have any info.

To the mo–nic, cheapskate STL who commented about the GO not budgeting any dollars anymore for "employee relations" (i.e. pizza lunches, deli trays, bread crumbs) for jobs well done, that's where YOU are supposed to STEP UP, and do SOMETHING for the hourly people who bust their butts to make you look good. Some of you, who are making in excess of $50K/yr. salary plus bonuses of $1K-$3K per fiscal quarter, have no consideration at all, just like Bruce, for employees making one-third of your pay. If you are trying to justify these corporate layoffs, YOU are part of the problem, as are the DTLs, who are overpaid "puppets," and don't have the gonads to stand up to Bruce, the Board of Directors, and the RTLs. EVERYONE on the Corporate Board has a net worth in the millions of dollars. This is SHAMEFUL for a company that refers to us associates as a "second family!" Also, you all need to know that, legally, you CAN'T be prosecuted or fired for commenting on this forum...so, PLEASE SPEAK UP! Bruce is trying his hardest to keep this layoff information from our stockholders and potential investors...He will NOT succeed!

To the person who stated that store managers not GO take care of food for associates, you are not 100% accurate. We get our budget for associate relations from the GO, we decide how and when to use it. Please, speak about that of which you have knowledge.

To the id–t who replied to me above. Are you that r—ded? All of it is knockoff trash. The brands garnishing the biglots brands are cheap and are made here. Everything else is made in C-H-I-N-A...if that's not too big of word for you to read. Flip everything in seasonal and 50% of the rest of the store. If you work there you're certainly not knowledgable of the company you work for. Dont bet money you're not able to put up on that job...I'm still working my job. Let's see if you are next year.

They arent lying. The company fired hundreds of managers, maybe thousands the day before yesterday, over the phone.

@PhockBiglots
You are a liar. Everything that you just said in your post could not be anymore inaccurate. They do not sell anything knock-off. All products come directly from the manufacturer's warehouse. They are very faithful to their employees that actually work and as far as providing food for events that is not a corporate rule or decision. That is up to individual store management. You sound like someone who got fired because of your attitude, in fact I'd bet money that's why you made this post and even have your user name the way it is.

Massive separations in management taking place right now. In stores that arent closing, for restructuring. They treat all their employees like garbage. They have for about 8 years. They dont even feed them on special events anymore. Their hiring videos say how the people working in the stores ARE the reason they are in business but they stick a knife in their backs. They're going under. They made all the wrong moves. They are more worried about how things look than the price. When people get smart and see the China knockoff trash isnt worth the prices that are being marked up...literally marking things up by putting stickers over the printed prices...people will go back to Walmart and get the same c-ap cheaper. My guess is less than 2 years Biglots will go under. Can you say Chit Lots?!?

Most stores are not renewing their lease because the rents are too high. I worked at the big lots in Maple grove last year and the rent was $35000 a month or higher.
