Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Severance

Do we know anything about what kind of severance was offered? I've heard some people say that it was lower than in the previous rounds of layoffs, but I can't seem to be able to find a confirmation or a denial of that.

It would be really low of Teradata to reduce severance and hit people when they are already down, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I got 12 weeks and that same afternoon a junior person with no experience was promoted to an Account Ecec role and given my accounts to look after. Disgusting behaviour by Teradata.

Word to the wise: the only way to get a severance payout greater than the capped 12 weeks is to hire an attorney. Precedent has been set that VP's with tenure who would have been entitled to greater than 12 weeks under the pre-2017 policy, hired attorneys and received greater than 12, but less than the full amount under the previous policy. (Keep in mind that RIFs have been happening all throughout 2018 as part of the bigger transformation strategy. So these legal claims have been continuous. This week's events just happen to be the largest and most painful.) Legal leverage is the only device that's working in dealings with this new, highly unscrupulous LT under the Vic/Oliver regime.

Weeks were based on job level and not tenure. So, those who were long-time TD employees definitely got the short end.

Some rumors of twice the years of employment times last drawn salaries

Weeks based on job level. Typical Sr Consultant/first line manager is 12. Principal/sr manager is 13. Experience has no bearing purely a job level alignment.
