The senior leaders of Kaiser Permanente are liars. They promised integrity, respect, honesty and transparency. They said job cuts would not be made lightly and that members would continue to have quality care and service. How dare they lie to their employees, members and clients. I understand cuts are necessary, but not like this. There is no respect given to anyone. Work is being left in limbo since the employees left have no idea what the layed off person was doing or they are not trained to pick up the work of the person that left. The Sr. Leadership has no idea that their lackeys are laying off the strong and intelligent employees while keeping the week ones. They are more interested in keeping the "yes man" than a dedicated worker. Members are starting to see and experience the backlash and it's a matter of time before everyone else will too. The culture of Kaiser was always one of teamwork, dedication and trying to better the community. There was true loyalty from their employees. They have successfully changed the culture to one of fear, with no trust, where backstabbers are rewarded and hard work is seen as a threat. This is why many employees are jumping ship. I do not blame Ron Vance since he was hired as the axe man. I blame all the Sr. Leaders who are hiding behind him. All of you are cowards. You should learn the work your employees do before you mindlessly get rid of them. You said you would, but that was another lie. I know the layoffs are not done. You are all destroying a place that used to be the ideal solution to help the health and wellbeing of our members and community. You have forgotten that your employees are a part of this community.

They have mandated that all sr leaders identify 10% of the workforce to mark as “performance needs improvement” on their 2018 evaluations regardless of whether it’s true or not,,, many managers had to reopen submitted Evals and downgrade employees to meet the 10% quota. Forcing managers to essentially lie and screw with the careers of hard working employees.

All new managers get this same eval oven if they go over and above what’s expected. Early retirement is the only solution now that I have a performance needs improvement in my file for the first time in my career.

Lab and medical imaging received notice today of position eliminations. Decreasing hours and services at multiple locations. They're claiming there are replacement positions available for all impacted individuals.

Can you tell me what additional cuts were made today? I’m also an employee and of course the “transparency” is not there and I haven’t heard of what positions have been cut yet

Yes. Everything we do keeps the Member at the center. Baloney. Yes, Ron Vance is the axe man, he is also a bully. You cannot treat people the way he does and expect them to continue to care for others. It's not possible. It is a culture of fear. He also thinks he is smarter than anyone. "Dr" Vance has even gone so far as to previously publish a paper on how HepC d--gs should be distributed. The humane medical community and insurers no longer disqualify for HIV, Fibrosis, or lack of Sobriety. Not long before he extends his hand into patient care. Not the man I would want running the company providing my health care - oh wait - he is. Many many more will be leaving. Patients and employees.

Just wait for the communications from about how today’s cuts will not impact service or quality and we “are doing all of this for the members”... what a bunch of b.s.
