Seriously... I’ve never worked with such a petty, unquestionably unqualified executive.. I’m sure there’s many other issues, but he can’t be helping the situation given his toxic, political gamesmanship... all that seems to be left in engineering are those who will just do whatever he wants, or just keep their heads down. All the qualified engineers and managers were let go or left right after... what am I missing? Serious question...

Rajiv Amare fired the best architects in the company. It was a matter of time before people realized he was a phony by talking more than doing. Hopefully this will serve as seo for future executive recruiters to never hire his sorry ass
Looks like it happened, since he is leaving "effective immediately". BK's rating goes up now!
BK said, in a letter to CDK customers: 'I want you to know that we are making bold changes and significant commitments. " Well BK? Firing Rajiv would be a "bold change AS WELL AS a significant commitment to your employees. Do it!
This last post was spot on. BK needs to address asap. The entire company depends on it.
He does not put the company’s best interest first. Either that, or he simply has very poor judgment and lacks business acumen. Either way, he’s a low performer who should be counseled out before there’s no intellectual property left to salvage. He has no shame and, somehow, thinks that makes him a badass. He is bad. He is an a--. And he’s a bully. In short, he is a walking liability and lawsuits naming Rajiv are imminent. You read it here first.
https://www.comparably.com/companies/cdk-global/rajiv-k-amar Someone should send him a trophy for being in the “bottom 10% of CTOs”
I emailed BK a link to the this page/board. Hopefully he will see it and do something...but probably not.
Why lie about Flex ? Our customers are already “sticky” so if we just tell them the truth about selling them the same c-appy software again with a new web front end they will stick with us even more. We can throw in some lewd comments and leering by Rajiv to seal the deal.
I'm guessing this stuff isn't really in the new CEO's purview - most of the information he receives about R&D is filtered thru Rajiv, so pretty hard to understand the real issues. esp. now when most of those left will say/do anything Rajiv says. It's like Flex - The director was told to lie, he did not, so he was let go, the new director is willing to lie.. how is BK, or any other exec suppose to fix this when they are not getting the real story?
i've heard him make similar comments... but, without proof - hard to do anything about it.
The company is losing quality people, DAILY. All due to RA's ineptitude, ego and arrogance. Another one yesterday. The team running the ELEAD acquisition have almost all left. Who will stop the madness??? BK, wake up! You are better off with NO CTO than this person. To use his own words, he's "toxic".
Was ever wondering if there was a #me too with Rajiv
Either the board is unaware and someone needs to find a way to inform them - to get them to read this material from people who no longer have anything to lose yet still care, OR the board is aware and it's all part of a different plan and they just don't care that Rajiv and some others ruin the once great division that became a company and used to have such great promise.
Without giving up too much: I was in management during this time. I’ve sat at the table with the CTO and many other senior leaders. The changes made, people let go and those pushed out was a very intentional way to prevent those who would be honest with the public & board about projects progress and stability of current projects. I saw, directly, those who would not lie about Drive flex progress and technology let go in short order. I was in the room, while The CTO, on speakerphone asked a high ranking engineering leader to lie. I was asked to lie on two separate occasions. I quit before I was forced out for refusing. When the flex leader wouldn’t lie, he was let go. I saw the same on two other projects. If the board really knew the legacy tech behind flex, or the real state of the product, or the real state of fortellis, I’m sure they would let the CTO go. Unfortunately, the CTO won, like most, I’m no longer at CDK and wouldn’t go back while the current CTO and his remaining leadership team is around. What a shame.
Re: earlier comment about sending much of the staff in to the sunset...
That started happening shortly after Rajiv was appointed CTO.
A huge amount of tech management and tech talent left during Rajiv's reign.
CDK is left with Rajiv's cronies.
Another gift from MacD that keeps on giving.
Similar story with the CIO and his Accenture buds.
Then why are they allowing it? I just don’t get it..
What global technology company has ever risen from the ashes of despair and futility by changing CTO without a healthy purgative also sending much of the staff off into the sunset?
It is frustrating - when the VP of my division openly talks about how terrible he is, it’s like an open secret. I’m not sure what your missing, but I’m missing it too.
