Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

If Teradata is going to lay people off and abandon many of its small-to-medium sized customers, why can't it:

1) refer laid-off people to small boutique firms that WANT to serve the customers and would benefit

from the expertise of departed staff and

2) establish a legitimate Channel-partner program?

Seems like an obvious win-win for all involved, but no one in Teradata wants to do the right thing by customers or partners.

I wouldn't bet a dime that people fired in such a nice way once they get in the boutique firm will not be actively engaged in moving customers from Teradata into something else.

If there it is one thing that is preventing the run from the product from snowballing is the fact that migrating out is non-trivial.
