So far, the people let go seemed well targeted. The people i knew who were let go were people who had retired on the job about a decade ago. Still a lot of dead wood in this company, but if management continues to make smart cuts like this then I think we have a shot at being successful in the future

AH is disliked by most of NDS senior management, past and present. The way he talks to customers is like he runs a kebab shop. “Alright mate, want to buy some tech? Our tech is the best init bruv. You can watch TV and everythin”. Sounds comical but is not far from the truth. Either he doesn't understand our technology or just can't communicate it, either way he shouldn't be customer facing.
YP is no leader, he’s just a petulant salesman with no real leadership experience and a senior management team that keep blaming Cisco for all the teething problems. It’s a messy divorce but you can’t blame them forever and the current problems belong to Synamedia management. Finance is completely stuffed with a constant churn of duff people. Suppliers kicking off constantly about not getting paid. That’s if you are able to purchase anything in the first place but don’t worry Israel, you got admin assistants to buy you your iPhones and any other toys you want. There’s no shipping department (outside of Israel) so you can’t send anything anywhere. The travel system doesn’t work, you phone them up and they haven’t even heard of Synamedia. You have to pay for travel yourself, up front, then wait ages for the company to pay you back. How long does it take to get T&E cards issued? This isn’t rocket science and you can’t keep blaming Cisco.
Now we have a new addition to Abe’s Babes harem, hashtag head of HR. Enough with the hashtags, we’re not schoolkids on Instagram. We’re employees trying to get the job done but get no replies when asking management for help. Doesn’t matter what their function, the management of Synamedia is not even listening to “its most valuable resource”. If you can’t help or don’t know the answer then just say “hi” but it’s rude to ignore our emails and cries for help.
Synamedia = worst parts of Cisco + worst parts of NDS (except for Premium Economy travel, if you are able to book any travel).
The old NDS buddy system and old friendships, eliminating people who are deemed in the way of personal goals. You got guys who were missing the entire CISCO tenure then show up in the 11th hour and claim to be leaders. AH in CM is a pathetic case of phony management with no ability to lead; just uses connections to imtimidate. US sales the laughing stock with customers, yet those are leaders? Guys angled for roles who were terrible people managers. The people dont matter, just personal growth. Good people cut even before the holidays which says a lot. My future is now fearful each day and all the spin is lies by YP and the rest of the management sheep. Its just a paycheck now. Counting the days.
At my site they chopped some right people and some wrong ones and left management alone. They should have chopped some execs to save money and increase effectiveness, kill off stupid infighting and politics and to demonatrate accountability for poor sales. KD, and FD should have been let go a long time ago. This failure cost the company it's opportunity to grab market leadership in video and to get synergy between its IRD line and Video Guard products.

My entire team was hit. Some very skilled, knowledgeable, and fun people. This wasn't about dead wood, but site logistics. At least at our end, the talent loss will impact Synamedia longer term. These are people you would want to hire under normal circumstances.
Not sure what location you work at, but we are swamp with work and shot on people and still our department was hit.

Agree that there is a lot of dead wood in this company, but this last round was about closing and consolidating sites. I wasn't aware of any targeted layoff this round
