If you sit and think about it, what past work experience do most of the home office senior executives have? Very little to none. Kim McWaters, has been there for 35 years. What sort of leadership experience did she have prior to UTI? None. Sherrell Smith...with the exception of a short hiatus, he has been there for over 30 years as well and has very little outside leadership experience to pull from. Jeff Muecke and Joe Cutler? Same thing. And the guy who "Trains" everyone? Forget about it. He is so disconnected from the real world its a joke. So, when things get tough, they do not have any outside experience to pull from that will help them get the company back on track. So, what do they do? They go on a hunt for money and in walks Chris Shackleton with $75+ Million to keep UTI operating. He has since made several changes on the board and has at least two of his people at the helm running day to day ops. That's not enough!!! Everyone mentioned above needs to go. There needs to be a ground up restoration of people at the top that have ideas. They need to stop putting all the pressure on everyone to work harder, from Financial Aid to the Instructors, to Admissions Reps. All they do is squeeze them. YOU CANNOT GET BLOOD FROM A ROCK PEOPLE! Come up with some new and innovative ideas by bringing in some fresh perspectives. Listen to the people with their feet on the street and for once, implement some of their ideas. You may be surprised. Sherrell, Jeff, and Joe have seen countless number of home office execs get fired by Kim while they sit back and drive their people harder and harder. Its a known rule...you go against Kim, you get fired. Since I have been here I have seen 5 Sr. VP's of Admissions go, 5-6 SR. VP of Marketing go, numerous changes in regional VP's of operations, and more. Yet no one seems to look at the top. I do not get it. I hope that things turn around because there are some great people that are still here... But they wont be much longer.

I believe that Joe Cuter and other higher ups that run admissions should get their butt in the Field and show the reps how to do presentations and enroll students. Obviously we no they have no clue.
Don’t forget about the Kramer Clown Group. What a think tank that group is!!
the same could be said for the mafia and the culture at home office is the same. not what you bring to the organization but whose butt have you kissed with the most enthusiasm
I'll go one step further than this post.... How many people have you seen retire from UTI? I know of 1!! Everyone else was either fired or Riffed, and a few left on their own. That should give you something to think about! Why hasn't anyone been able to retire from there?
