Yes, they’re laying off workers at Terex. They had company wide layoffs Feb 2019 and more will be laid off if they can’t sell all the inventory they produced in 2018. Terex is the most ill managed company I’ve worked for in 20 years. JLG will eat there lunch

On may 1st Terex laid off 140 workers in South Dakota, alot of those workers had been with the company for 10 years or longer, now they are slowly hiring back for lesser wages just to save the company money but losing alot of hands on knowledge
Worked there from 2006-2018. It used to be an enjoyable company to work for. Each layoff that happens, your co-worker you grew to knew is no longer there, xmas parties and giveaways became free lunch days, bonuses get smaller by the year, not as huge as 2007. Most companies these days don’t practice what they preach, until someone gets hurt. Quarterly meetings are just shows to put on for the big bosses. The genie meaning of family slipped away as the years progress. Growth within the company was not worth to stay any longer. I recommend it only to learn what you can and get out.
Terex, like many manufacturing companies, is cyclical on the manufacturing side. This happens when the companies that purchase this type of equipment are not buying. The companies that purchase this type of equipment purchase in large volume so when they are done replacing old equipment this is what happens. It's normal and part of this type of manufacturing. Terex, however, is hiring in other divisions and locations. It is a diverse company considering what they do.
