We need to pay better and if we continue to shortchange people on pay the quality will drop. I was always proud to work for fedex but lately i've seen the quality of hires is dropping. i would never say they are 'low life' but they are not as skilled or or as engaged as people used to be. this is a clear indication that they are starting to run the company with spreadsheets and look at everything though numbers - that's what you get whet accountants and finance run the company - the executives should be more focused on the operations and figure out how we improve ops and how we get better and more nimble - i get the cost part and costs need to be managed but you will never grow if you lose talent and if you cannot get the best possible talent that's out there. that's my two cents on this, stop saving money on people and focus on improving operations. this buyout will not help but it's better than layoffs.
