Thread regarding ADP layoffs

Any regrets?

I'm thinking about leaving on my own, but I'm having trouble deciding to make that final step and give in my resignation. I was curious, people who worked at ADP and left on your own - do you have any regrets?

I know there are at least a few who still check this page based on posts. I'd appreciate your input on this.

I voluntarily left ADP after 13 years. I was a bit nervous to leave. I thought I would retire from ADP until a few years ago, but things changed. ADP's culture, knowledge base, and work environment have been gutted by upper management with all their layoffs and global staffing. The stress level across the organization is way up, while morale and job satisfaction is way down. ADP no longer met my needs. It was time to go.

I was picky and turned down several job offers. I didn't want to leave one bad situation for another.

I found right opportunity and resigned. I know work for a company that ACTUALLY values it's employees. ZERO REGRETS!!

On a side note: More and more voices are calling for Carlos to resign. It's time.

Perhaps "research" was not the proper word to use by the poster, but I also add my voice that I agree. A company that offers more money to a departing employee in the hope that they stay knows very well that they are underpaying that employee.

My research indicates that any company that offers you more money to stay with them is admitting that you have been underpaid and that you should keep your dignity on your way out the door.

It's not rocket science, or scientific study as one poster stated, but it is a study in personal decision making, conflict resolution (within yourself) and project (YOUR LIFE) management. Life and experiences are lessons. No cheat sheets or looking at your neighbors paper allowed. Your decisions and your Grade, UPgrade or DEgrade.

I didn't mean to imply I took at pay cut while at ADP. I took a pay cut at my new job because quality of life is more important to me than the stress and no work/life balance that I had at ADP. Ultimately people have to do whatever is best for them. I have zero regrets for leaving.

I have also never received a pay cut at ADP, and don't know of anyone else who had. However, I don't presume to speak for the whole company since I couldn't see everything and everywhere there.

I loved my co-workers and most of my lower managers when I was at ADP, but I would never want to return there because of the predatory upper management, the high pressure and stress, and the BS that management constantly put out. I will stay in the peaceful place where I am now rather than return to that sweatshop.

A pay cut? I call BS... I was with ADP more than 30 years, and NEVER did anyone receive a pay CUT. A lateral move maybe, that would put you in a position where your current rate was above max for wherever you transferred to, so no increase.. I know plenty of those laid off, or even offered the VERP would have taken a pay cut in order to stay. As much as we all have anger at what happened , I can say I loved my job , and my team while I was at ADP. If asked to come back , as a contractor etc, I would jump at the chance.

I have no regrets. I wish I would have left 2 years earlier. However, your situation is likely different than mine or anyone else's. You need to make the right decision for you. If you decide to leave on your own, make sure you are running to something, not away from something. That will make all the difference.

Why would you ask what others regret or not? Each associate has unique needs for employment with ADP or any company. Your need should be considered for leaving or staying, not someone else's. Your talent and skill set is not a carbon copy or robotic duplication of anyone else. Know what you have to offer and sell it whether at ADP or elsewhere. You do know you sell your talents and skills for a paycheck or price, don't you? How low or high do you value what you bring to the table? This is what should be considered. Not regret if you leave for a more suitable opportunity for your own needs.

I left on my own and have no regrets. Although I'm not sure what qualifies 'newly hired' from the previous poster, the company did offer to pay me more to stay. Personally I don't find that tactic useful for the long-run but it was offered. Even without threatening to leave you could ask your leaders to reevaluate what you earn and you might get a raise as a result. If you're being told that policy says you cannot have a raise at this time, or something along those lines, your leaders are not pushing it hard enough. ADP has many rules but I've seen most of those policies bent during my tiny tenure with the company.

How long have you been with ADP? I have heard that newly hired who threaten to leave are offered more money to stay
