Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

Argosy online - Any info?

AI, AI, AI... That's all I see on this site. Maybe it is time to split the three schools. What is happening with AI campuses has absolutely no impact on what's left of Argosy Online employees. This place is like a ghost town and we have no idea what is going on.

So you still work online as an instructor? And you have the absolute balls to continue this charade by conducting business as usual.

I'll leave it there instead of accusing you of being a mental defective and a scary b--tard.

I am an online instructor teaching a class that isn't usually taken early on in a program. I just started a new class last week that had the smallest enrollment I have ever had. At the end of week one, a large number of the students are already AWOL, with at least a quarter not having even logged into the class. I'm already assuming that I won't get an offering for the next period.

The Chandler office is being locked out in a few days. The few that were left were told to take what they can and go home.

Anyone who works for any of the schools needs to job search and get out. I worked for EDMC from 2007-2013 and they were laying off people then and now it is worse with closing ground campuses. They used to line up the cabs in the back of 1400 Penn Ave when they did mass lay offs and now they can't even afford that. No one wants to buy them. Good luck trying to get a job in higher ed also. No one wants to have anyone work for them in higher ed who worked for EDMC or Dream!

They’re planning on firing everyone and giving them 6 month contracts. This isn’t that different than EPF is doing with AI or Candelwood is doing with South.

I’d be spending most of my day job searching. What are they gonna do? Fire you? There’s no HR and right now they NEED you. Leverage that and job search all day. Grab a conference room to interview for a position. That’s what I did before I left and I’m much happier for it.

Where are there any AUO academics left? Pittsburgh…or working from home? This is what we have been wondering…who is talking to students…and who, if anyone was left of AUO. If there is no one to enroll students, what are you telling the continuing population? And…who are you reporting to? DCEH? And AC manager? Apparently Matt G was hired back…but not for AUO?

We at AUO (Academics) have only been told to hang in there, they are looking for a buyer. We really don't know what to expect. Trying to stay positive, but expecting that this will all end at some point, even if we get a buyer, seem the brand is damaged. The only truly valuable programs we have are the Clinical PsyD program and the Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, maybe someone will buy those. The rest of the programs are junk that only attract barely literate students.

A comment from Argosy. The plan is we will be sold.

Closing the schools immediately will also keep DCEH from selling the Argosy Universities, and perhaps SUO, to an interested buyer: Eastern Gateway Community College “EGCC.

All Enrollment Counselors in Argosy Pittsburgh (and managers) were left go in January.

They kept the Finance and Academic Counselors. I do not know if any were left go since that time.

All Enrollment Counselors at Argosy Online in Pittsburgh were let go on January 22.

So, there is nobody to enroll new students.

That’s just the thing....there are no AUO reps at all in Chandler, are there in Pittsburgh? I’ve asked multiple times, multiple people.....no one knows anything. I worked in Chandler, and I know the building is practically empty, save a few DCEH and AI people. Does anyone know if AUO even is still enrolling? Closed?

If it were me...….I would plan on all positions being eliminated "eventually", but stay where you are until it happens. Even if it is restructured in some way, I believe that the positions offered will be for a lot less money.

I would pay off/down my credit cards.

I would not take on any more debt (do not go out and buy a new car).

I would try to put some money aside in a savings.

Live/plan for each paycheck as if it will be your last.
