Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

One of more than 50 "Assets Under Management"

Apollo Education and University of Phoenix are an afterthought in the eyes of Apollo Global Management. They are one of more than 50 "assets under management."

If the profit/loss numbers people have leaked out are true, how long will Apollo Global Management accept the losses? They spent $1.14B on the takeover and they continue to lose money? Where's the value in that? And from what people have said, they have continued to have large, steady losses. Sure, they are closing campuses and laying off people, but how will that work to turn a profit? And if they want to sell of University of Phoenix, what could they sell it for?

Good points. They wanted and expected to turn profits at any cost. We are not marketing or even trying to help students out. The goal here is every cal is a new enrollment chance. Even you know they should attend or we don’t have what they are looking for you need to enroll and have them spilling their hearts out. Get real most people do not tell you the truth at all when you first meet them. I hope they finally get an investigation going on here. Tell ER to call at anytime is ok is against the law.

Apollo Education has been part of Fund VIII, as an "Opportunistic Buyout." But it sure seems like an opportunity gone wrong.

What does Apollo Global know about education? Did they think they could just cut the company into profitability?

And did Apollo Global really think that Obama's friends at Vistria could lead University back to profitability and a positive image?

Aunt Becky didn’t pay $500,000 to UOPX. Why is that?
