Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

What's with South University flying under the radar?

https://www.thelayoff.com/south-university

South University is a big part of the contagion that must be scrutinized in this the MAIN forum now that they've killed Ai and Argosy. The vultures are in control and we know what their business really is. We can't let them skate. The last thing they want is transparency. Let's not let them destroy more lives. The way is clear.

SU good luck. No legitimate successful business turn around corp. would touch this mess only a hack. Should a forensic auditor go to each each individual campus they would have a meltdown on the deep fraud cooking in their books. Savannah's premier Campus should lose their Title IV funding immediately because they are masters of slight of hand.

I would say that under normal circumstances, and with honorable companies, DCEH should have carried on the severance policy from EDMC with necessary adjustments up or down based on tenure, market conditions and an employment formula, of which there are many, of their choice. But given the way DCEH has bailed and left everyone in the lurch, who's surprised that this provision wasn't planned for.

Lest you need to be reminded, and I know you don't, the operative word here is "honorable."

My husband who work for AI in Atlanta and for South for the past 12.5 years was promised a severance package, one week for each year, etc, now being told that because that arrangement was made through EDMC the holding company will not honor it. They are absolute scum.

Still no information on South University as if silence is really golden. Make no mistake, based on recent events their going underground does not engender a healthy "moving on" lifestyle as the contagion just festers.

South was sold. They aren't part of DCEH anymore.

Never ceased to be amazed how the down clickers come out when simple informational questions that affect so many people's lives are seen as a threat to those that may or may not have something to hide. In light of all the recent life debilitating events, it's hard to believe, let alone have confidence in, those few whose silent mantra seems to be: Trust us. We won't let you down again.

So they are "allowing" students to transfer into South, sayeth the big bad wolf. The warm and fuzzy here is underwhelming.

First thing first, where's the money?

The South University layoff board per se has precious few informational posts with the last going back as far as 7 years ago. Over that time many posts have been spiked, at whose request is anybody's guess. It's time to let some light shine on what's going on for the benefit of the thousands of students, educators and staff who by far have the most to lose.

Any information about what's going on with South? Will history repeat itself as it shape shifts yet again with just another stealthy investment group looking to make a quick buck. Employees and students should know what's going on. But it looks like more of the same: hunkering down and hoping the empathetic investment bankers will now change their stripes.
