I work at one of the Ohio stores and it's going downhill fast. Giant Eagle does not care about their employees at all!! They just found out a way to cut more hours by giving the cash office jobs to the coordinators and self checkout workers. They make them count drawers and do pick-ups. Usually every day we only have two cashiers per shift with twelve registers. They expect only one person at customer service each shift so we can't take our breaks or use the restroom!! And we're supposed to remain courteous and customer friendly during all this?? We get the brunt of customer complaints at store level and mgt doesn't care either!! If you hurt yourself they will take you to court and treat you like a criminal even if you are a longtime employee!! This store s---s and it's a matter of time before they ALL close!!

Ever since Laura took over it has been a completely different company. They have zero customer service except for the Market district stores where they in vest much more effort. hours are cut below a skeleton crew and then the managers company why the work is not getting done. Dual manger roles have been implemented for a while now and let me tell you, its not working well. It has become a terrible place for employment. I look for them to pull out their GE stores of NE Ohio within 5 years but possibly keep the Market District store open. They are the only stores they seem to care about these days.
Amen to that. They are greedy Scheisters.
