Certainly not new news or any revelations. One of the main reasons vets enroll at my campus is the tuition assistance payment they receive. It is much higher at a ground campus. In essence, vets are paid to attend school. I support the benefit but is is often abused at my campus. Many vets do what we call sign and dash. They sign the attendance roster to receive credit for attendance but then dash at the first break or even before class actually begins. This is not a majority of vets but is enough to sound an alarm. UOP has no control over this; however it produces negative perceptions about UOP enrollment and academic practices as it should.
