Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

The virtues of modern plumbing

It’s been a while since I posted about how much I hate Corporate Enbridge, so here’s the latest thing that made me LOL with disgust... does anyone else find it hilarious that Inc. is going around talking-up their innovative and groundbreaking Uber program? As I recall, they resisted Uber with every fibre and only looked into it when dozens of people called them out on Yammer. I also recall BN chastising the people who politely suggested that the no-Uber policy is lame. I also enjoyed their “#makesnosense campaign which would have been more aptly named the “#express your discontent on Yammer so that our executives have the opportunity to jump all over you in front of your colleagues and tell you all the ways you’re wrong... and then maybe 6 months later we’ll take credit for fixing the problem you pointed out” campaign.

Yammer drama aside, who is this person that thinks talking-up Uber in 2019 makes you look good? Look at me, I’m using a computer instead of a typewriter - where’s my Stellar award? I also want recognition for that time I c-apped in a toilet attached to plumbing instead of an open pit out back. I look forward to seeing everyone drop to their knees to praise AM when he figures out you can calculate tips on your Palm Pilot.

I hate corporate but like my own department and business unit. My job has absolutely nothing to do with oil, f---ing over aboriginal communities, or poisoning Michigan. My job is mostly about helping people, so that's how I can exist in this company without contemplating s--c-de daily. Another key step to surviving is trying to find slivers of humour in the c-ap communications corporate constantly churns out.

If you hate Enbridge so much, you should quit and go work for a company you will be happy with. Follow your own values and make yourself happy.

Agreed.

They've made quite a mockery of their 3 Values over the years. I think the most humorous part of it all, is the examples of "integrity" they've set for us. Anyone can hide behind a word, true leadership embodies it.

Yet they stand there clueless as to why the morale is dead.

I don’t think anyone would claim this is a huge gripe in the grand scheme of things, but I do think Corporate needs to be reminded that their internal PR c-ap solicits laughter and mockery.

This is your complaint? On a layoff board? Really?
