List of Pier 1 Stores Closing

Does someone have a list of Pier 1 stores that will be closed? I am reading multiple reports today and it looks like 100+ stores may be shut down.

I found a brief list on the web, it has about 10 stores on it but these listed are the ones that got closed by Pier 1 prior to April of this year when the closure got announced.

Anyhow, see the list and expand if you have details...

Cheers!

If your store is no longer on the website that means it is closing. They removed the storewide sale indication on the stores on the website and removed the stores that are closing all together.

How do I find what locations have store-wide sale?

Can someone post a link?

For example, I am looking at this and cannot see anything indicating if this lcoation is closing or has a sale:

https://www.pier1.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-pier1_us-Site/default/LocalStore?storeId=0153

If you go to the Pier 1 website and do a store location search you can tell if your store is closing bc it will say store wide sale and you can’t choose that store to order from.

I see that Pier One (ONLINE) has given those customers in Hawaii and Alaska the option to order again from their website. A few weeks ago, they removed the option because they closed those stores.

Maybe someone from corporate is finally READING the comments here and decided to have a HEART for the people outside of the continental USA mainland. Pier One really was the ONLY place for those in Hawaii and Alaska to purchase nice items for the home.

Pier One do NOT leave your loyal customers hanging just because YOU are in a Chapter 13 pickle.

People still want to shop at this store. At the very least give the people of Alaska and Hawaii FREE shipping online, since there is no other way to get items anymore. Thanks to whomever is at corporate for removing the block online to people in Alaska and Hawaii.

Here is the list of relocated and closed stores, most of them got closed in 2018 and 2019. Nobody has a list with 450 stores that will be closing in 2020 but rest assured, they will publish it. The bankruptcy will accelerate the whole thing.

Pier 1 Imports is a great store, they have merchandise that is unique and can't often be found in other stores.

But more important is their excellent Customer Service , which at our Local store is incredible , the Associates and Managers treat their customers like their friends! They go above and beyond to help their customers.

These stores should not be closed, many customers will be very disappointed. It also, will be a huge loss for the retail world.

The 450 to be closed store list is still pending.

Also, bear in mind, distribution centers will be closing.

Here is what was disclosed:

In order to better align its business with the current operating environment, Pier 1 intends to reduce its store footprint by up to 450 locations. To reflect the revised store footprint, the Company also plans to close certain distribution centers and reduce its corporate expenses. This includes a reduction in corporate headcount.
In order to maintain the same high standards customers have come to expect and ensure a seamless experience for customers at these locations, the Company is utilizing the services of a third-party liquidator to help manage the store closings.

I do a lot of Christmas shopping at Pier 1. LOVE their decorations and other things (too many to name). It’s sad that brick and mortar stores are closing. Shopping online is ok, but there is nothing like a shopping expedition!!!!! Hope the NC stores stay open, but I have my doubts. I’m bummed.

PIER ONE is about to file for BANKRUPTCY.

Just announced on CNN and CNBC...... WOW!!!!!!

"Filing for bankruptcy is an option under consideration if Pier 1 falls short of its goals, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the process isn’t public yet."

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/06/pier-1-reportedly-prepping-for-bankruptcy.html

All the stores in my area used to be packed and had tons of nice things. This is surreal.

Worked in New England area store for 8 years. They hire GED education level managers that boss the smarter floor workers around like slaves. I am recently retired from a career in Education. I worked the "closing" shift after school for extra income. I mopped floors and cleaned customer toilets, and I can tell you that the arrogance of these so-called managers is their downfall.

Former Pier 1 employee here! Worked 16 years at two stores in the province of Quebec. The company exited Québec in August 2018 because of the cost of maintaining the French language Requirements to do business in the province. I currently make my way to either the South Burlington Vermont store or one of the 5 (now 4) Ottawa stores all about two hours away.
Pier 1 is a wonderful company I loved it a lot and i miss it. They will get through this hard time like they have before in 2006-2008 and keep offering us the best there is.
