Admissions

What is the difference between your typical Art Institute admissions representative and a politician?

Easy, one lies all day, every day and the other is a politician.

Hey, Hey guy. You're not so tough. Calm down with a little drink and relax.

Hey OP,

What are you doing with your life? If you were so concerned about the Big Bad Admissions Wolves, what did you do about it? I'm guessing you think bishing anonymously is productive.

Take a cue from Elsa and let it go.

"Maybe it’s comforting to have someone to blame, but the reality when I worked there was admissions reps were disseminating the information they were given from corporate including career services statistics, student success stories etc. "

( OK,so you just went ahead and big gulped all the corporate lies with a Kool Aid chaser before ditching that Critical Thinking 1.0 class) Still comfortable? There's always someone else to blame. That one's right out of the book of weasel. Bravo!

"While it’s easier to see things in black or white, the truth is often somewhere in the middle."

(Unless of course you read. Reading is usually in black and white with numbers too and the statistical numbers among many other tales of larceny have been out there for years). Try again?

And finally, I can assure you, nothing about this absolute con game has EVER given me comfort.

Maybe it’s comforting to have someone to blame, but the reality when I worked there was admissions reps were disseminating the information they were given from corporate including career services statistics, student success stories etc. it wasn’t until D--k Durbin’s Sentate investigation on for profit colleges was made available on line that we saw the true picture and not everyone knew about it. So there were honest admissions reps, there is at least one honest politician and there were successful graduates, I wound up being one of them. While it’s easier to see things in black or white, the truth is often somewhere in the middle.

And as an Academic Representative (and I use those words loosely), do you really want to live in a world full of predatory weasels; especially in a so called academic setting. I was not brought up that way, thank God. Many of your students were academic and financial neophytes and you took advantage of them. The behavior you describe is sick, is sociopathic and unforgivable. But now your employer has "F"ed you. Maybe YOU should have done more research. So, yeah, move the "F" on already.

Welcome to the real world indeed!
