Thread regarding GE Power layoffs

This week's layoffs at GE Power

There were a lot of layoffs today in Atlanta and Greenville for Power Services

This is referring to Thursday, but I haven't heard about any layoffs happening yesterday. Is this true? How many people were hit? I think we'd all know if it was a lot, but if it was a smaller round, it could have flown under the radar.

There were layoffs on Apr 18th, in Greenville and Atlanta, GE never gives the number out. But this is not the only, I am sure there will be more coming in next few months. These are only to the employees and not to the leadership teams, at the top only there is so much fat there, but nothing has been done there.

It’s absolutely false. There have been zero layoffs in Greenville this week...not one

Yeah, check your people leader's (manage's) and HR rep's calendars for those 30 min meetings. I counted 7 on Thursday including mine. Will be more on Monday.

Small groups (1-10) at different locations on Thursday. GE HR is VERY good at keeping it secret and the only way the impacted employees know there are others impacted is if they see them entering/leaving the same conference room. All layoffs are conducted one-on-one to keep the rest of the sheep from panicking. The only way to estimate how many is to look at the conference room scheduler to see how many 30 min blocks have been taken by HR.

As for all you "fake news" sheep - your time at the end of the prod will come as a surprise too.
