For those of you still hanging on at Sprint...if you were offered and did not take the GREAT layoff package offered to folks with years of Seniority in early 2016....that was a mistake. Bad news is apparently coming. Sprint is running out of money. I worked for Sprint for 19 years and accepted the package in January 2016. It was the best decision ever! It was the last time Sprint was offering 2 weeks for every year of service plus 8 weeks severance. Amazing package plus free phone and all normal benefits paid for 1 full year! On top of that you got unemployment as well from the State! Now I heard anybody layed off after that time gets only 1 week x year of service and no extension of Health coverage benefits. But if they start offering packages again....TAKE THE PACKAGE! The job market is amazing. You will find employment quickly! If not, just go back to school and retrain. Good luck!!!

Sprint, by policy has a severance package will as stated was put in place after the good package was dumped. It is reportedly not nearly as good but it is something. Don't know if it includes continued health benefits or not or phone benefits. Who knows that will all change with T Mobile anyway eventually. It may be best to be layed-off sooner rather than later in any event and I am sure there will be a voluntary opportunity to take the package in some areas of the company as the execs don't really want to make the decision, but then in just a few months all the Sprint execs will be gone and someone who does not know you at all or your history is going to pull the cord. Good luck to all at Sprint.
Given the “financial state” of the company don’t be surprised if you just get your final paycheck and asked to return all your company assets...
for the sake of the people still employed here, we prefer to deal with absolutes. To my knowledge there are no packages being offered. Unless you have evidence to the contrary (if so, please cite) please keep the theories to yourself. These are real people involved here
There will not be any layoffs until the merger decision is announced. Sprint cant layoff thousands and then tell the FCC the new organization will create jobs.
Just wait - They may decide to offer packages again. They definitely offered packages to THOUSANDS of former Sprint employees....some within the last year even.
Where you laid off today? How do you know there isn’t a package
there is no package
