Thread regarding Office Depot layoffs

Severance question

Hello everybody. I was hoping somebody might tell me what kind of severance is being offered by Office Depot to employees in closing stores and who is entitled to severance?

I don't think my store is closing in this round, but I wouldn't be surprised if we are on the chopping block soon as well. It would be nice to know what to expect at the time.

Thank you.

What last poster wrote sounds right for folks at Corporate at least - not sure about folks in retail

My understanding is that salaried associates get 2 weeks per year of tenure, with a max of 20 weeks. Hourly associates get one week per year if tenure, up to a max of 10 weeks.

The severance package that is received probably depends on where you worked in the organization. For example, retail, corporate, management, or field sales could all have different severance packages. That is not at all uncommon when massive layoffs like this 2019 round of job eliminations goes.
