Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

HLC

From the provost:

I am pleased to share with you the news that the Higher Learning Commission’s (HLC) Institutional Actions Council met recently to make a final decision regarding the outcome of our Comprehensive Evaluation that took place last year. The Council has reviewed the peer review team’s visit report and recommendations and has accepted the visit team’s recommendations, affirming that University of Phoenix continues to meet all criteria for accreditation with no interim monitoring.

Come on, Camden - a conspiracy theory please?

HLC accreditation simply reveals how inept and possibly corrupt is the HLC. The standards fail to consider many metrics where UOP is compromised. How anyone could trust this institution enough to enroll as a new student, let alone its reputation, is beyond my comprehension. I understand the financial motive for military student enrollment, but not a student with adequate academic skills. Even community college's will enroll average, adequate students, and at a much lower cost. One factor is the one class, one night per week attendance requirement at ground campuses that enable financial aid qualification.
