I wasn't voting yes as soon as I heard about it.

"Heard that BK,LB,MB were in the building today......who knows what went down"

how about Paul Hilbítch?

He must've been in attendance.

He's an expert at what he does. After he's done manipulating your brain cells, you'll forget all about voting yes and get down on your knees and beg Altice to further destroy the workforce.

Hey love management, all that sounds like what the Altice management has done! At least when that boob was pretending to run his basketball team, they gave us great raises, and left us the F alone to do our jobs. Go to hell Altice, or at least go back to France!

you seem to forget that 1/2 the shops are now FTTH and work needs to get done. Do you think contractors are a new thing? They've been around forever. More now since they recruited 1/2 the staff to be cable pullers

FAT Barry told me a long time ago that I should never trust a union. They are very mean people.

He also said that having a direct relationship with the company makes it easier for them to bend us over whenever they feel like.

plus they steal everyone money with their dues and go out and buy mansions & luxury cars.

I can’t believe that there are still guys out there that would vote no to unionize. Take a look around fellas and what do see more & more of on the streets (contractors) & less & less of in the depots (in house techs). With the exception of union dues, which are minimal, please give me another reason why you guys would not want union representation? I’m sorry guys I just can’t understand why you would vote no. Please make me understand.

To who said they hire down south. That is not the case most of our shops have half the techs compared to a few years ago.

by

Post ID: @YLgVq8n-3rnw

Wow. Not even here and the depot is divided...

Sad! But they say that it’s about “brotherhood”! SMH.

by

Post ID: @YLgVq8n-3nvp

Huh, you want to know who does their jobs? Ask the guys on the late shift which guys leave the most work during the day for us to pick up after they go home!

I love you all think your great techs just cause you play the numbers game yet we all do the same thing. What you do what they tell you and don’t complain well so do I and I’ve been doing my job for the last 20 years and I never wanted a union either til now cause my eyes are open to what’s going on . Keep your blind folds on that’s cool and as far as planning for the meetings they are all planned at least a week out . For someone that says he does his jobs and does this great thing sure sounds to me your complaining a lot! Also to the tech talking about snitches to supvs . It’s not about keeping secrets but why give them any sort of upper hand when they just come out with some stupid rule like the ot or lunch at end of day which they just throw on us with no sort of warning . So if we see your close to supvs and in their getting your route adjusted aka complaining and also kissing butt why would I want you to know. Also you pretend to act like we are all a team well since I’ve been here this place had never been all for one always one for themselves

by
|
Post ID: @YLgVq8n-3aoe

That’s the scumbag play book! If you are a good tech that does your job, your a kiss a--. If you are a no vote, your a snitch. It’s the lunch yard politics of a middle school, because honestly, the union doesn’t care about anything except your dues. And if you think that’s not true, you better wake the F up!

Post ID: @YLgVq8n-3kmq

@YLgVq8n-3sxq are you serious? Sure the union has come up but to give people no time to clear a schedule for a meeting is irresponsible. Don't take it as a personal attack. I just want to know wtf is going on. Just because I'm doing my job and not participating in every conversation, doesn't mean I'm not interested. I'm a kiss a--? No, I'm just doing my job. You've labeled people as "snitches" which is stupid. There's no snitching. once you approached the union, you knew the company would find out. Even if i ran and told a sup, wtf is the difference? They can't do anything. completely insane

Post ID: @YLgVq8n-3lsp

@YLgVq8n-3cxq

You might be a tech in the shop but I’m sure someone at one point or another mentioned the Union yo you and you either didn’t show an interest or because of how you kiss the supervisors a-- we knew where you would stand and this proves it . Good luck

Hey, @YLgVq8n-2sfv, Verizon are real men, how about we get a contract like theirs? Do you think those real men would take one of the turds ATS shops have gotten? Or should we just wait 8,9,10 years for ours to grow some teeth? The question is what are all these ATS guys who are pushing so hard getting out of this? Kick backs? Special privileges? Because there are definitely the in and the out techs now. I guess that’s what the union means by brotherhood. Brothers, as long as every one agrees with the union.

As a tech in the shop, I'd like to have a say on what's goin on with negotiations. You have this secret text going on of about 10 guys doing all the talking and nobody else has a clue. Your legit dealing with people's families and lifestyles. You should tell people when there's a meeting and give them time to adjust a schedule. You sit in meeting with Hilber with your smug face and say "there's a meeting tonight" I wasn't in that meeting but know guys that were. Just remember, there's a whole shift you have left out of this fight. 2 guys on my shift isn't going to swing the win

by
|
Post ID: @YLgVq8n-3cxq

Lol, you guys just barely started to unionize and want everything. The fight hasn't even started yet and you all are bítching already. Get ready to lose pay or even lose your job but I don't think that gonna happen because you techs are a bunch of weak little bítches that only know how to run from a fight and go cross other people picket lines to scab, that's the real problem in this country today. Next time you see a Verizon tech on the the street ask them how they feel about their union. Real men those technicians over there.

Post ID: @YLgVq8n-2sfv

If you are wanting to vote yes just keep this in mind:

We voted them in, stewards and bargaining guys got elected, and now..... crickets.

If you arent pro-union prepare to be left out of the "in" crowd, even though you will be FORCED to pay dues or get fired. And dont you DARE question the union and there practices.

No news on anything, no more propoganda texts, emails, or anything. No roadmap, what we can expect, what kind of concrete things are going to be asked for in negotiations.

And did i mention? Dont question anyone or anything because it puts a target on your back.

It’s the same do nothing techs that always want the unions. It’s the same do nothing techs that always cry the supervisors are the problem. It’s the same do nothing techs that fall for the unions BS and provide the financial blood for the union parasite to survive. It’s also the do nothing techs that out number the techs who do their jobs, and go home without daily drama and temper tantrums, so enjoy your union, it’s what the majority wants. Unfortunately the majority is a bunch of pussies.

Post ID: @YLgVq8n-2hba

I think we see so much contractors in Morris because we have nobody left. We literally have 34 guys....34 guys. When I started in 2000, we had a little over 100 techs. 4 different shifts. PLUS we had contractors. Work was nuts. Now, anybody that leaves, they don't fill the spots. The one thing I'm always curious about is why they are consistently hiring down south for alot of positions (PLANT/FS ETC) but they don't hire up here. There's literally nowhere to advance to anymore

by
|
Post ID: @YLgVq8n-1kyx

Alot of you guys in field service are especially brainwashed and ignorant. You dont see how they are slowly phasing out your work ? Consolidation of routes and giving contractors more routes? One major thing that should be in a contract is that contractors should be let go first if there is a work slow down or layoff threat.

by
|
Post ID: @YLgVq8n-1vyt

@Lando

You say "job security" and you gave them management rights. You allow them to replace your brothers with a contractor when one of your brothers gets let go. You are suppose to protect your brothers and you allowed them to sign a "weak contract". How is that protection!!!!!!!!!

The problem with the union is you guys live in a past time and don't accept reality. You sell what a union USE to be. In reality, unions went from being a wall to corporations to a speed bump.

Don't be fooled. Unions have absolutely no power to do anything they say they can. If they did there would be evidence of that. Actual Evidence!!! Seems like they continue to take without giving.

Oakland- Moved to ATS without a vote. Their entire world changed overnight and now guys are talking about decertifying.

Newark/Lodi- Techs are still being let go and not replaced with a inhouse tech. Already chatter of decertifying.

So I'll ask again...Please give us a actual example of a union helping a tech? Don't sell a "what if", give a actual example...If you can then you will have my vote. In each case the techs got less than what the non union techs got.

Remember what happen to Time Warner techs and they had a lot more techs than ATS did...

*"You two are really delusional. The union that no one seems to even know is supposed to fix all problems..strength in numbers is a way of saying go get more techs for union dues.

So far 3 depots are union and there’s not one example of the union actually helping a tech! Ask Oakland how good that union is for them lol what a joke!"*

This is exactly the attitude that will result in failure. Too many ignorant techs that have a small picture mentality. They sit up there expecting a union to wave a magic wand and give them everything they ever wanted overnight.

Sorry to say that It doesn't work that way.

Since 2016, you been witnessing this company destroy the workforce piece by piece. Their business model is 100% contract labor. This is not debatable.

First priority of any union is to provide job security of its members. It's very difficult to achieve this because too many techs are brainwashed into thinking a union can never benefit them. (when there's more than sufficient proof to the contrary)

Oakland contract is very weak because they had no leverage at the negotiating table. Had Lodi, Newark, Morris, and all the rest of NJ been sitting at the table, you'd have much more bargaining power and thus a stronger contract.

May 9th, you guys need to smarten up and unite. If not, Altice will certainly have free reign to further reduce benefits and/or continue to phase out all in house personnel.

Wish you guys the best:

  • hope u morris guys don't fall for the divide & conquer tactics.

  • Hilber will prey on the weak minded individuals who have little understanding of what it is to be union.

  • end goal should be to unite all NJ shops. That way you'll have more bargaining power... (strength in numbers)

  • stay united and you will succeed

You actually think we are going to take the Oakland contract ? News flash we ain’t dumba$$ . And btw ya I’m sure it’s real bad as your doing your bs cli route and both you 2 kissa$$ are driving home early out to pa which your not supposed to be doing . Keep thinking that everything is good here and btw I’ve been here just about same time and if you can’t see that it’s got so bad the last 3 years then you are a fu!?ing r----d . And I’ll be your shop steward and good luck ever getting me to protect you when you get caught with your pants down and also your supv only cares about himself and will turn on you as soon as he gets a chance .

you seriously didn't bring up healthcare costs did you? They go up all the time...for everybody! You think Healthcare costs just stay the same?!?! They've been going up every year since I've been with the company (99) you're a fool. You're going to piss off half the shop because you want your sick time back and want to lock in healthcare. News Flash dumb a--, we get alot more perks than those few problems. Oh they can't take anymore. Really? How's Oakland loving life now being ATS? Gravy as USA and you got s---ed in. Oakland's contract s---s and they are fools for agreeing to it. The best part is the answers. "Who here has union experience?" crickets.... "Who here has met the guy negotiating at the table for you?" crickets. "Who's going to be your steward"...crickets. It's too late, you got the ball rolling because you're a hack that can't cut it and gets picked on by mgt. Where do you fall in stack ranking? I'm still confused because the guy that started this is always in the top 10. Hope you know what your getting yourself into buddy because 1/2 the shop doesn't like you. If this passes and hell breaks loose you better start looking for a transfer.

All I can say is I hope the guys with the troubling sup are in good shape. P.H. Made a good point stating that sometimes bad sups are empowered by it. If you think it's bad now, wait until everything can be held against you since the contract states it. He may correct the way you're spoken to but I'll all but guarantee you'll see hell fire on your heads. The idea of having him pushed out of the shop isn't going to work.

Ok smart guy..so whats your solution? Let your european executives continue to run the show and continue to take things away, jack up healthcare costs and give you what they feel is " good enough "?

by

Post ID: @YLgVq8n-zse

the good fight? You have the shop so divided it's ridiculous. You have guys that signed cards thinking the union will not do anything. That was even before yesterday's meeting. You want a "union" and only inform half the shop. Can't wait to see who the steward is that's going to ruin my life. Considering the one running the show has "no union experience" this should be great!
