FFIV has let go of a number of people this week. Looks like a stealth layoff. Not surprising. They are a hardware networking company in a world going rapidly to the cloud. They've failed to build much of a security business and in their core market - ADCs they are competing against free HAProxy and near free load balancers offered by AWS and Microsoft. Software revenues are up ... but that's mostly selling to their current customers. The question is, can they monetize NGingx?

Software revenues are up but they are a tiny fraction of total revenues and nowhere near enough to move the needle.
Where and in which departments?
