Haven't heard any official communication yet about our annual raises, but rumors are circling that it is destined to drop on the 2nd pay cycle in May. Rumors are it will be very very anemic, as usual. The govt stats for the last 12 months of CPI inflation rate is nearly 2%. We're a gambling company afterall -- so what do y'all think the over/under is for our annual raises keeping pace with inflation this time? lol.

No need for future layoffs. They'll just keep hiring recent grads at bargain-basement prices, meanwhile "encouraging" the older crowd to leave on their own, by continuing to offer sub-par benefits and very small (or no) annual raises and no promotions.
De-facto age discrimination, if you ask me.
Envy never solves anything; in fact, it only extends the time you sit in your own bucket of manure.
When those in your position actually leave to go elsewhere for higher pay, they'll simply replace you with someone just like you and do it all over again. What they do has nothing to do with you.
Is that a cynical statement? Only to those who choose to ignore the reality of working for this type of place. In reality, you're just ticked about YOU not leaving, not their behavior. People who stay knowing how they are, and then complain about them- is the same as someone complaining about their pet rattlesnake biting them or repeatedly putting your hand on a hot stove burner and then crying 'the stove burned me.'

It's the gaming industry. That means- most won't get a raise in salary unless you are part of the 'club'. Those with skill will be worked vigorously, those who are liked because you hangout or you are related to the boss, will get the raise. I'm not kidding about that. That's reality, no sense in fighting it, or trying to disprove it.
if you are new, work 2 years and leave. Find another job that pays more than you are making now. It doesn't matter how hard you work here (seriously), how talented you are- they really don't care.
2 years and exit.
