Thread regarding 21st Century Fox Inc. layoffs

Does anybody know anything???

I hate just having to sit and wait while my anxiety intensifies. Some transparency in this whole process would be great. Let me know if I need to look for a new job or not - don't leave me waiting and stuck in limbo for days or weeks - or heavens forbid - even months.

Some of us would really like to be able to move on...

I went through a layoff with Disney Feature Animation in 2002...only a 2 week severance after 10 years, several others with more than 20 years also got 2 WEEKS severance.

Don't count on it until they cut you the check...TRUST me....

You've known about the sale for over a year now. And now you are considering looking for a job? I'm guessing you thought you were safe but now are not sure. Were you told by anyone you were safe? If not, then you should have assumed that no one is safe.

Severances should be pretty lucrative - RIP

I work with the Disney team on some items and came from fox. The tribalism and sh-- talking by them on their calls has been outright unprofessional and offensive. Look for a new job now. I am.

"Some of those growing pains are likely to include layoffs, which are expected to be in the thousands, as Disney and Fox pare down duplicate staff. Iger said the integration "will be an evolution, with some businesses impacted more than others." Fox and Disney have overlap in their film production staffs."

i'd suggest you start looking now, rather then being surprised in the coming weeks or months you're out of a job. be PROACTIVE, not REACTIVE. good luck
