Layoffs or not, what drives me nuts is a nonchalant way how the execs and corp comm team are going about this. There was an organization wide email sent to tell us how rosy things were and how we are knocking it out of park in the marketplace. Layoffs left and right, and yet all is rosy here at Oracle. This is sick and disrespectful. Yeah, things are good if you get to keep your job but at the same time I know at least three people who were axed this week.

@YbpNCss-ojj Probably bc his own DM was axed.
When they did the massive SPARC and Solaris layoffs a year or so ago, we were having our best sales years ever, we got corp. comms. saying how rosy things were, they had the huge employee summit and being told there were jobs everywhere that needed filling, then they RIFed 1000-1500 people.
They just lie and lie and lie.
They sent the email to make sure people were more focused on their work, not on layoffs. Reassure, then hatchet. The important thing is not the people, but the profits.
You should show how sickened and bothered you are by staging a walk-out.
Quit, now. That will show em (Oracle).
thats quite com'on. For rest of them its life as usual..
Not surprised, unfortunately. You must have zero sense of empathy to reach those management heights in Oracle.
For information purposes re: impact, he was a Network guy
This is probably because his management chain is being rifd too.
Just got a call from a friend, he just got axed. What bothered him the most was he told by an exec who is not even in his reporting chain and who he has never previously spoken to.
